COURSES
Emmaus Course
Emmaus celebrated a decade of existence last September. In the past ten years it's been used by God as a powerful instrument to bring adults to faith, to nurture new Christians and to inspire life-long discipleship. Thousands of people have grown in their Christian faith as a result.
Our course meets most Mondays at St Mark's Clergy vestry from 8.00-9.30pm. The first module was "Growing in the Scriptures", followed by "Growing in prayer". Later topics include "Being Church", "Growing in Worship - understanding the sacraments" and "Life, Death and Christian hope". Each module of four or five weeks is followed by a social evening which gives a chance for futher discussion and getting to know each other.

Lent 2007 Ecumenical House Groups
Churches Together in Surbiton will be following the Lent Study Course prepared by York Courses. Entitled
"Can we build a better world? Learning from William Wilberforce", the course is built around his remarkable life. His great achievement in abolishing the slave trade in Britain is exactly 200 years old. The course is concerned with our discipleship in today's world in the light of his faith and work. It s not a historical course.
The five-week course will run from the week beginning 25 February 2007.
