Event and Facilities Hire
Did you know that you can hire St Andrew's Church for an event?
Your event doesn't have to be religious – the Church and its rooms can be hired for all sorts of events* from concerts to group meetings. Your event could also be publicised to the Parish on the virtual and physical church noticeboards.
The church building (including toilets and disabled toilet) contains a number of spaces that can be hired together or separately. They include:
The Main Body of the Church and the Nave
This is approximately 90 square meters and the largest area available to hire. This area can comfortably seat 264 adults in the main church – with a suggested maximum of 300 people.
The Choir Vestry
This is a further room to the rear serving as a choir vestry. It is approximately 65 square metres, but because of its irregular shape it has a similar capacity to The Glass Room.
The Glass Room
This is approximately 40 square metres. This is a glass fronted room at the side of the Church which leads on to a small patio. It would comfortably accommodate a maximum of 35 people seated or 45 for a standing buffet. In addition a kitchen can be hired (located between The Servery and The Vestry) though no cooking facilities are available.
The Lady Chapel
This is approximately 30 square metres. It is a usable space only really suited to small seated gatherings with a comfortable maximum of 16 people.
Costs and Enquiries
The cost of hire varies depending on the space hired but there is a Minimum let of two hours. Also a £50 refundable deposit is taken against all lettings to ensure that facilities are returned as found. *The incumbent reserves the right to refuse requests (for hire) where the usage function is deemed inappropriate for sanctified areas.
