The Parish of St Andrew & St Mark, Surbiton
Our Faith: Learning

Learn about Christianity with us

Learning

A well informed faith is vital for discipleship.

At St Andrew and St Mark we seek to provide opportunity for you to explore the big questions as well as to get to know other members of the church through learning and fellowship in smaller groups.

The Ecumenical Course

Every year in Lent Churches Together in Surbiton organises an Ecumenical Lent Course. Members of different local churches get together and follow a recognised course (often it is the York Course). Please enquire before Lent.

The Emmaus Course

Are you keen to deepen your faith?

Are you open-minded and willing to share and explore your experiences and beliefs with others?

Are you interested in joining a study group for short concentrated sessions?

If you answered 'yes' to any of these, the Emmaus Course may be for you.

House Groups

House Groups provide an opportunity for fellowship and learning in smaller groups.

Biblical and Theological Study

If you would like to undertake a more rigorous course in Biblical and Theological study then the Bishop's Certificate is a great option. It runs annually in three locations in the Diocese.

The Certificate is taught by local clergy. Subjects covered include:

  • The Old Testament
  • The New Testament
  • Christian Doctrine
  • Christian Ethics
  • Christian Worship and Liturgy

The Diocesan website provides more information covering cost, location and contact details.
