MUSIC

Taize singing with an instrumental group happens every 2nd Sunday of the month at the 6pm service. Those who want to sing or play an instrument are invited to come at 5pm, an hour before the service to learn the songs. Contact Imogen for details.

The Parish has a well-established choral tradition, and new members to either choir are always welcome. The choirs rehearse every week. The choirs sing at the Sunday morning Eucharist, as well as providing a large musical contribution to all the major services and choral evensongs. Music is generally in the post-Stanford tradition, but the diet is highly varied, interesting and enriching, with a large amount of Renaissance and high-quality modern choral music included. There are two excellent three-manual organs by Hunter and Mander, plus a portable one-manual chamber organ by Osmond. To find out more about music in the parish, or to enquire about joining one of the choirs, please contact the Director of Parish Music, Derek Barford. You can also contact the Parish Office by email or by ringing 020 8390 9129.
