An introduction to our Curate, the Revd Imogen Nay

An invitation to our Christmas Party

Dates to note:

Sunday evening services are enjoying a surge………
On Saturday 28 November there will be a Parish Fun evening in the hall - fish and chip supper followed by games of 'Just a minute', following the radio show formula with teams of all ages!

Sunday 29 November is Advent Sunday and the preacher at the 10.15 Service will be Fr Martin Smith, priest at St Columba's Washington DC and writer and spiritual guide.

Looking ahead to 2010!
I would be interested in leading a party to the cities of Castile in Spain, visiting Segovia, Avila, Salamanca and Madrid. The theme might be 'In the steps of John of the Cross'. We could take 6 days in the October half-term, last week of that month, flying to Madrid and then taking private coach and train (not so private). Who might be interested?

Important work at St Mark's

On 20 July 2009 preparations for a new parsonage house and work on St Mark's Church began in the churchyard, in the two sections to the west and north of the main building.
Although the Churchyard was closed in 1941, an exhumation process is necessary. All legal and local authority permissions have been granted and work has now finished. Reburials, with a service of prayer and blessing, will then be in the Surbiton cemetery, where a section has been set aside for this purpose.

For any enquiries please contact our project coordinator, Bob Wilson, via the Parish Office.

Website revamp
The parish website is having a much-needed revamp. We apologise for any mistakes and missing pages which may happen while work continues. If you have any comments or suggestions, please contact the Parish Office.

New Curate
On Sunday 28 June we welcomed our new curate, Imogen Nay. She was ordained Deacon in Southwark Cathedral that morning, and and was licensed to the parish at a special Evening Service. Her husband, Olav Knuppel, will be a Year 6 teacher at our school.
