PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO WESTMINSTER ABBEY

This will involve a private tour around the Abbey (once most people have gone home), hearing about its history and praying in its sacred places. The tour begins at about 6.00pm and ends with Compline. We would like this very special opportunity to be for people who have not been on such a pilgrimage before. If you are such a person and would like to come please give your name to Helen Hancock as soon as possible – preferably by email. All (ages) very welcome.

PARISH PANTOMIME

The Pantomime Rehearsals have started on a new version of "Sleeping Beauty" which will be performed on 3rd and 4th March in St Andrew's; tickets will be on sale in February. There are still some small parts available. We also need help organising the production, and help during the performances. Please email Jemma Box if you are interested or speak to her after the service.

WE NEED 12 INTERNET SURFERS

We need 12 busy people, used to surfing the internet, to mentor one of our 12 chosen Charities of the Month. This will involve producing annually, a few column inches for insertion in the appropriate month's pew sheet, to publicise the charity. The intention is that when people read it they will be enthused to support the charity. If you are interested please speak to one of the Church Wardens or a member of the clergy.

Would you like to help get people out of homelessness for good?

This is what the Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness endeavours to provide and this charity is the one we at St Andrew's and St Mark's support annually during the month of January. If you would like to contribute to their work please place your donation in the large green glass jar by the door as you leave and at the end of the month our treasurer will total up all our donations and forward them.

Sleep Rough so others don't have to

Richard James from YMCA London South West and Matt Hatton from Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness invite you to join them in being sponsored to sleep rough on the streets of Kingston on a cold, dark Saturday at the end of January 2012. Churches across the UK will be engaging with the issue of Homelessness on Sunday 29th January and for the fourth year running the YMCA and KCAH are joining forces to run Sleepeasy encouraging people to 'sleep rough so other don't have to!'

Last year saw Scout and Guide groups from across Kingston complete with school and church youth groups to see who could be the group to raise money that would be split 50/50 between the YMCA and KCAH. Alongside the groups of young people were a number of local companies and family and friends groups who came together for a good, if cold night under makeshift shelters constructed out of donated cardboard boxes.

This year's Sleepeasy Event takes place on Saturday 28th January at Memorial Gardens in Kingston. If you are interested in taking part visit the website.

Contact YMCA's Sarah Ward or call 020 8399 5427 or Becky Mills at KCAH.
