Sunday School
Sunday School starts when schools return in September, and runs throughout term-time, except when we have special services. The first Sunday of each month is an All Together service. All children from the age of three are welcome to attend, along with their parents if they so wish. Here is a calendar of Sunday School activities.

We generally try to follow the same programme of study and exploration as the rest of the congregation albeit with a slightly different emphasis for the varying age groups concerned. Using one of the day's Bible readings, we will be exploring how we can grow together in our journey to become the church Jesus intends us to be. We will look at themes such as being a community, forgiving and being forgiven, faith under construction, praying and rejoicing and being alive in Christ.

We explore these themes through stories, discussion, acting, exercises and arts and crafts. The sessions tend to be interactive so how much we get through and precisely how we do it varies from week to week depending on the make up of the group - not surprisingly the younger ones tend to prefer the messier arts and crafts to discussion. No doubt you will have seen some of the work done displayed in church, but if not come and ask after the service and the children will be only too happy to show off what they have done: the older ones will even be able to tell you what the session was about!

Continuing the theme of community, those of you reading this who don't attend Sunday School, might like to think how you interact with the children in our Church community. For example, a visit to help out at Sunday School and share your experiences with us will always be welcome and it takes no extra effort, after all you will be in church anyway!

PS We always need people to help with the Junior Sunday School and with the crèche. We are hoping to establish a rota so that each person would help for one Sunday per month (or even one per half-term if there are enough people. Please contact the Parish Office or one of the Churchwardens if you are able to help. In accordance with our Child Protection Policy, everyone who works with children has to be checked by the Criminal Records Bureau first.
